On Friday, the 8th of June 10 employees made up of Ansaback 24/7 call centre call handling agents and back office staff started their adventure off with a ten hour drive to Fort William in Scotland to take part in the National 3 Peaks Challenge, climbing the UK’s 3 highest mountains within 24 hours, a challenge that would push the team to their limits and force them to overcome some very treacherous conditions in order to succeed.
It was no easy task to undertake- some employees felt the wrath of past injuries with some acquiring new afflictions that meant the challenge was even harder. Fortunately we had the weather on our side! There had been reports that rain would bare down on us but to our amazement our adventure was mostly dry. I say mostly dry as when the team was ascending SkaFell Pike, the clouds rolled in meaning the pathway was covered in cloud. This made the conditions harder as everything became wet and visibility was poor. Mount Snowdon was ascended in darkness which really tested everybody’s nerves as visibility was very poor with only head torches to show what was in front.
Unfortunately not everyone was able to tackle all three mountains- but this did not matter as the task was to raise money for Ormistons Childrens Charity and we all succeeded in that! Ansaback raised £1,762.00 which is a great achievement in itself. Since doing the 3 Peaks challenge, those who took part have started to get a taste for mountain climbing with many wanting to try again next year!
